The east riding of Assiniboia shall consist of so much of the said provisional district of Assiniboia as lie to the east of a line drawn from the international boundary line, along the centre of the road allowance between the fifteenth and sixteenth ranges of townships lying west of the second initial meridian in the system of Dominion land surveys, as the same is now or is hereafter set off, to the northerly boundary of the said provisional district of Assiniboia.

The electoral district of Assiniboia East, bounded as follows:-Commencing at the south-east corner of the provisional district of Assiniboia; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said provisional district of Assiniboia to the north boundary of the twenty-fourth township; thence westerly along the said north boundary of the twenty-fourth township to the meridian between the sixth and seventh ranges west of the second meridian; thence southerly along the said meridian between the sixth and seventh ranges to the southern boundary of the provisional district of Assiniboia; thence easterly along the said southern boundary of the provisional district of Assiniboia to the point of commencement.

The electoral district of Assiniboia East--as defined by Chapter 60, 3 E VII, 1903 (Northwest Territories, section 1)--was originally within the geographical region of the Northwest Territories. With the creation of the province of Saskatchewan in 1905, Assiniboia East continued as an electoral district within the province.

The said province and the province of Alberta shall, until the termination of the Parliament of Canada existing at the time of the first readjustment hereinafter provided for, continue to be represented in the House of Commons as provided by chapter 60 of the statutes of 1903, each of the electoral districts defined in that part of the schedule to the said Act which relates to the North-west Territories, whether such district is wholly in one of the said provinces, or partly in one and partly in the other of them, being represented by one member.

The North-west Territories shall hereafter comprise the territories formerly known as Rupert's Land and the North-western Territory, except such portions thereof as form the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, the district of Keewatin and the Yukon Territory, together with all British territories and possessions in North America and all islands adjacent to any such territories or possessions except the colony of Newfoundland and its dependencies.
From 1905 to 1947 - NWT not represented in Parliament
From 1947 to 1962 - NWT are represented only by the electoral districts of Yukon-Mackenzie and Mackenzie River
1962 - the electoral district of NWT created to represent entire territory.
