What We Do

In English and French, Parliamentary Guides:

  • Welcome visitors to Parliament
  • Lead guided tours of Centre Block, which houses Canada’s Senate, House of Commons, and Library of Parliament
  • Greet visitors in the Peace Tower and Memorial Chamber
  • Offer guided tours of the restored historic rooms in East Block

Summer Program

  • Early May to Labour Day
  • Parliamentary Guides work full-time, 35hrs/week
  • Open to bilingual university students across Canada
  • Extended hours of operation in May and June
  • Two-week training period beginning in late April

Fall/Winter Program

  • September to mid-May
  • Parliamentary Guides work part-time, 15-30hrs/week
  • Open to bilingual university students in the National Capital Region
  • Guides may work more than one year
  • One-week training period beginning in early January
