It's a privilege to work with and learn from such a dedicated team of guides, to go into parts of Parliament that most people will only ever see on TV, and to share the marvel that is my country's Parliament with visitors from around the world.
My favourite part of being a guide is being an ambassador for Canada. As a guide, I have the opportunity to meet people from around the world.
I love practicing my second language, meeting people from around the world, working in the most beautiful building in Canada, and getting to see my friends every time I go to work.
My favourite part of the job is being able to use both languages. Coming from an anglophone background, being able to express myself in French with fluency and confidence is a bonus. I can connect with Canadians and visitors without worrying about my second language.
Working as a guide, I learned a lot about Canada’s history and its Parliament. Through the visitors I met and my colleagues, I also learned a lot about Canadians from across the country.
