Confederation Hall

Hello, my name is Chantal and I’m a Parliamentary Tour Guide. Behind me is Confederation Hall, at the entrance of Parliament. This beautiful space links the three Institutions: the House of Commons, the Senate, and the Library of Parliament. The central column represents the Federal Government, branching off to crests of Provinces, Territories, and capital cities. Finally, symbolically, at the base of the column is a compass, surrounded by waves, representing Canada’s moto: Ad Mare usque ad mare, from sea to sea.
