William Robert (Bill) Young
Parliamentary Librarian 2005 – 2011Prior to becoming Parliamentary Librarian, William Robert (Bill) Young was an analyst and researcher with the Library of Parliament for 18 years, working on several parliamentary committees and writing parliamentary reports from 1987 to 2005. He also worked in various positions in the federal public service.
Mr. Young is also an accomplished political historian, a university professor, and an author and editor of books and academic and popular articles. He currently sits on the board of directors for Samara Canada.
Born in Woodbridge, Ontario, Mr. Young graduated from the University of British Columbia with a PhD in History and an MA in History and Political Science. He also has a BA in History and Political Science from York University.
