Corporate Services (CS) provides support and services to the Library of Parliament in the areas of human resources, finance, materiel management, corporate planning, and information technology.
We are currently looking for candidates to staff the following position: Senior Advisor, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
The Senior Advisor, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plays an integral cross-functional role at the Library. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the incumbent of this position plays a key role in formulating DEI strategies and implementing DEI solutions to support the Library’s strategic priority to build and sustain a healthy and inclusive workplace. Working closely with various stakeholders across the organization (including the Parliamentary Librarian, members of the executive team, underrepresented employees, teams across the organization, and partners across Parliament Hill), the Senior Advisor applies a solutions-oriented lens to promote positive cultural change and implement measures in support of diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, indigeneity, and accessibility.

The following knowledge criteria and skills will also be evaluated:
• Sound knowledge of concepts, theories, principles and practices related to diversity, equity, inclusion, indigeneity, anti-racism, and accessibility
• Knowledge of related laws and regulations such as the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Employment Equity Act, and the Accessible Canada Act
• Knowledge of the concepts, theories, approaches and procedures of change management, project management, and organizational behaviour
• Strong research, analytical and comprehension skills, to review and analyze a wide variety of material, develop strategies and make recommendations, manage projects, assess and manage issues and advise clients and stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal and listening skills to lead project teams, consult with and advise managers and staff, foster relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders, as well as well-developed communication skills and ability to build consensus, to present, discuss and address complex, difficult and highly sensitive subjects
To be considered, candidates must have:
• Post-secondary education in a field related to diversity, equity and inclusion or a combination of post-secondary education and experience working in diversity, equity and inclusion, indigeneity, anti-racism and/or accessibility
• Demonstrated experience leading complex diversity, equity, and inclusion-related projects, initiatives, and/or activities
• Demonstrated experience providing advice and guidance to all levels of an organization (from employees to senior management) on issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, indigeneity, anti-racism, and/or accessibility
• Experience working or consulting with persons from marginalized or underrepresented groups
• Experience conducting systemic (policy, system, process, or software) reviews, identifying barriers, and implementing solutions to remove or reduce barriers from an intersectional lens
• Demonstrated ability and willingness for continuous learning in the field of diversity, equity, inclusion, indigeneity, anti-racism, and /or accessibility
Asset Qualifications:
• Knowledge of human resource management principles and foundations
• Experience facilitating group conversations
