The Senior Director, IT, provides leadership and strategic direction on ongoing and future IT challenges and opportunities to deliver solutions that respond to the Library of Parliament’s business needs.
In today’s digital and information era, the Senior Director, IT, plays a critical role as an executive and a trusted business partner to all business areas within the Library of Parliament. The Senior Director, IT, is responsible for developing and recommending IT strategies and plans for the Library of Parliament; for leading the vision, strategy, development and execution of a comprehensive set of IT products and services; for enabling the design of the business, information, application and technology architectures; for providing strategic technical direction and advice to Library of Parliament management on IT matters; and for negotiating and managing partnerships.

• Recent* and significant** experience in managing financial and material resources
• Recent* and significant** experience in leading committees and working groups with senior management, and in developing policies and strategic directions in an organization
• Recent* and significant** experience in providing strategic advice and making recommendations to senior management and at an organizational level on complex issues related to IT strategy, projects, transformations and functions
• Recent* and significant** experience in negotiating and in successfully collaborating and managing partnerships with other departments or agencies and service providers
