The Communications team is responsible for protecting the reputation of the Library, for raising profile of the Library, and for providing expert communications advice, support and services. The team is accountable for the Library’s internal and external communications channels, and has overall responsibility for the vision and strategy for the Library’s web resources.
We are currently looking for candidates to staff the following position: Web Program Manager.
The Web Program Manager oversees and manages the Library’s web program, bringing to life the Library’s vision for website development. They develop and maintain a roadmap for the technological evolution of the Library’s websites, and they manage website development and redevelopment projects in collaboration with stakeholders from across the Library. A subject matter expert in website development, they provide guidance and expertise to management and employees, leveraging industry best practices and theories, principles and techniques of user experience, communication, and project management.

For the purposes of this selection process, the competencies listed in the attached Competency Profile will be evaluated.
Note: While this position is eligible for part-time telework, regular on-site presence is required at Library of Parliament workplaces located in the National Capital Region
The following knowledge criteria will also be evaluated:
- Significant* and in-depth knowledge of best practices and trends in website creation and management
- Knowledge of content management systems
- Knowledge of project management theories and principles
To be considered, candidates must have:
- Post-secondary accreditation in a field related to the duties of the position, OR an acceptable combination of relevant education, training and experience
- Recent and significant experience* in the management of websites or web programs
- Experience leading large or complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communications skills, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience or knowledge normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex related activities acquired over a minimum of five years. Recent experience is defined as within the past 5 years.
