YORK EAST, Ontario (1867 - 1904)


British North America Act, 1867

Ontario shall be divided into the Counties, Ridings of Counties, Cities, Parts of Cities, and Towns enumerated in the First Schedule to this Act, each whereof shall be an Electoral District, each such District as numbered in that Schedule being entitled to return One Member.

East Riding of York.

1859 22 Vic., C.2, S.8(1)

The East riding shall consist of the Townships of Markham, Scarborough and that portion of the Township of York lying east of Yonge Street and the Village of Yorkville.
