Pursuant to Order in Council P.C. 1998-0183 (SI/1998-0032) dated February 13, 1998, Order in Council P.C. 1996-121 (SI/1996-0016) which transferred additional responsibilities to the Minister of Industry in respect of the Federal Office of Regional Development - Quebec was modified, and the name of that Agency (Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec) updated, effective February 23, 1998.

Department Change
Pursuant to Order in Council P.C. 2004-0890 dated July 20, 2004, the control and supervision of the portion of the public service known as the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec were transfered from the Minister of Industry to the Minister of State to be styled Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister responsible for the Francophonie.

P.C. 1998-184 (SOR/98-118) 13 February, 1998 - Schedule I.1 of the Act, amendment. His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to subsections 3(1.1) and (1.2) of the Financial Administration Act (S.C. 1992, c. 1, s. 70(2)), hereby amends, effective February 23, 1998, Schedule I.1 to that Act by striking out the reference to the Federal Office of Regional Development — Quebec in column I opposite the name of the Minister of Industry in column II and by substituting for it a reference to the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec.

Pursuant to Order in Council P.C. 1991-1111 dated June 13, 1991, the division of the public service of Canada known as the Federal Office of Regional Development - Quebec of the Department of Industry, Science and Technology was designated as a department for the purposes of the Financial Administration Act and the Minister of National Health and Welfare was designated as the appropriate Minister.
