The office of Minister of Forestry was abolished and the office of Minister of Forestry and Rural Development created by Statute 14-15 Elizabeth II, c. 25, assented to June 16, 1966 and proclaimed in force October 1, 1966.
The office of Minister of Marine and Fisheries was abolished and the offices of Minister of Fisheries and Minister of Marine were created by Statute 20-21 George V, c. 21 and c. 31 respectively, both assented to May 30, 1930 and proclaimed in force June 14, 1930.
This portfolio was created by Statute 19-20 Elizabeth II, c. 42, assented to May 26, 1971 and in force June 11, 1971. By this Act the Minister of the Environment is the Minister of Fisheries.
