Department Change
The Department of National Revenue was abolished and the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency was created by Statute 46-47-48 Elizabeth II, c. 17, assented to April 29, 1999 and in force November 1, 1999. The Minister of National Revenue was named as the Minister responsible for the Agency.

Statute 53-54 Elizabeth II, c. 38 (2005), assented to November 3, 2005 and in force December 12, 2005 continued the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency under the name of Canada Revenue Agency, with a presiding minister, the Minister of National Revenue.
